It starts with building a culture that attracts wonderful families that want to put their children in a positive environment where they can develop and excel. This upcoming season promises to be full of exciting opportunities and memorable experiences for all. We understand the importance of creating a close-knit community, and we are committed to providing more chances for our families to connect and support one another. Below are a few features of what you get when you are part of the Huskies:
Twice-a-week extended practices from September – February gives players more ice time with fewer trips to the rink.
Bantams will practice twice a week on a full sheet of ice from September – February to provide them with the ice they need to develop
All home games will be played at consistent ice times in the state-of-the-art facility in Romeoville.
Led by Hockey Director, Chad Green, the Huskies coaching staff focuses on player development.
Players can access game videos and coaches can share highlights with players, or use our video review room for full team lessons.
All players Squirt and older will have off-ice conditioning with Don Lewis from Tier 1. 20 off-ice sessions will coincide with on-ice practice times.
The Squirt, Peewee and Bantam Huskies teams will participate in NIHL (Northern Illinois Hockey League), while the Mites will play in the CUHL (Chicago United Hockey League).
On Monday evenings, expert goalie instruction will be provided by Jim Stanaway from Goalies, Inc. for goalies at all levels.
Each team will have action photographs taken of at least two games during the season. Photos will be available via digital download approximately one week after the game.
The Northern Illinois Hockey League (NIHL) is the second largest Youth Hockey League in the U.S. and is made up of 47 travel hockey organizations – including the Huskies. All Squirt through Midget Huskies teams will play their league games in NIHL. NIHL is a USA Hockey sanctioned league.
The Chicago United Hockey League consists of 35 travel organizations throughout the Chicagoland area — including the Huskies Hockey Club. All Mite teams will play their league games in the CUHL. The CUHL is an AAU sanctioned league.
